The flag of China, also known as the “Five Star Banner”, features a bright red field with five yellow stars in the upper left corner. The large star represents the Chinese Communist Party, and the four smaller stars symbolize the four social classes described by Mao Zedong: workers, peasants, petty bourgeoisie and patriotic capitalists.
