A national symbol steeped in history
Adopted in 1974, the flag of Grenada features a unique design consisting of a rectangle divided into four red and yellow triangles, separated by a white cross containing a red disk with a five-pointed yellow star at its center. Each corner of the flag also bears a yellow star. Red symbolizes the courage of the people, yellow the warmth of the sun and the richness of the earth, and green the abundance of vegetation. The star in the center represents the unity of Grenada and its parishes.
