The flag of Malaysia, also known as the “Jalur Gemilang” (Stripes of Glory), features fourteen red and white horizontal stripes representing the thirteen member states and the federal government. The blue canton in the upper left-hand corner symbolizes the unity of the peoples of Malaysia and bears a fourteen-pointed yellow star, reflecting the same entities as the stripes.
